Online Architecture Degree in Australia

Australia and Online Architecture: Australian universities have been taking part in more virtual design studio projects, both working within
the country and working globally.
The projects of 1995 were not the only ones that Australia took part. In 1999, the University of New South Wales was part of a global project
called ‘om’nium’ (Latin for ‘all together’, referring to the importance of collaboration and communication between designers).

This project pulled in fifty students from five continents on a design project utilizing the virtual design studios. The collaboration was meant
to show how so many students could communicate and work effectively on a project as well as show how it could be applied in future projects
for education purposes.

The project allowed participants to work individually on the project, chat with each other, e-mail questions and concerns, and pin up the
result on an exhibition area for anyone across the world to see.

The project also used guest tutors from Australia and the UK who were able to give the students the benefit of their specialties and
experience.

It was meant to work alongside the old systems of teaching, not replace them yet, for in order to have the most effectiveness, the founders
believe that a whole new system of teaching and learning will have to be devised in order to get the maximum benefit out of the system.

For the faculty which designed this program, it was also meant to make certain that students and professionals did not lose touch with the
changing technologies in the world beyond the studio.Next: New
