Online Degrees: e-learning degrees

Getting a degree online is becoming a trend for many students who have to juggle school with family and work life. Universities and colleges
often tote their ability to give online courses as one of the reasons for students to attend their school above all others.

There are even schools that are almost entirely devoted to distance education such as Open Learning Colleges which allow students to do
their coursework through the mail or online.

One of the most notable schools for being entirely online is the

Athabasca University in Alberta, though there are plenty of other colleges across the country which offers Open Learning such as Selkirk
College in British Columbia.

Almost every university and college offers at least a handful of courses through the internet for the convenience of their students.

Online schools are also very common across the world with plenty of Open Learning schools in the United States, the UK, and Australia/New
Zealand.

Utilizing the internet means being able to reach more students and being able to do things that would be harder for the professor to do in the
classroom setting such as having live feeds for relevant events and being able to lecture and give speeches on the professor’s own time instead
of having to juggle it with other duties.

Most schools offer at least a handful of courses online, either because the coursework can be very different, the course can be drastically
shortened, as the student will just have to do the coursework and perhaps attend online forums instead of lectures, and there is flexibility that
is simply more general.

Having courses online is something that universities and colleges point out as a reason for students to join their school as opposed to others.
